So This Is The Change We Need?

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

With the passage last night of the “Healthcare” Bill and the signing of that Bill into Law by the president, America has taken the largest turn toward Socialism in its history.  The president and the Dems on Capitol Hill are walking around calling this a historic moment in America and I agree with them.  So this is the “change” Mr. Obama ran on.  This is the “change” his duped supporters swallowed during the election.  This is the “change” that you and I will be forced to live and pay for for the rest of our lives.

A few days ago I heard the president touting what this “change” would mean for America.  Now let me tell you the truth:

MYTH: The president said that millions of Americans will now be able to get “the same” healthcare that members of Congress get.

FACT:  This is a lie!  Members of Congress get elite medical treatment through the Capitol Hill medical system.

MYTH:  The president said that this legislation will cut the deficit, “by over a trillion dollars.”

FACT: This is a lie!  The Congressional Budget Office states that this bill will cut the deficit by 138 Billion.  First, this is NOWHERE near a Trillion dollars.  Second, This 138 Billion is only saved IF the Medicare cuts go through AND doesn’t take into account the “Doctor Fix.”  Recently, Obama said that he would cut the fees  paid to doctors that treat Medicare patients.  This was supposed to save about 400 Billion and help pay for the “healthcare” bill.  The problem is that at the last minute, the “Doctor Fix” was taken out of the Bill!  Say goodbye to any possible deficit cuts.

MYTH: Over the last several weeks, the president has vilified insurance companies and bug drug companies.  He talked about “eliminating insurance subsidies within Medicare that aren’t making anybody healthier but are fattening the profits of insurance companies.”

FACT:  At the last minute, several provisions were put into the legislation that HELP big drug companies and actually MAKE MORE MONEY for the insurance companies.  The president stated that he would lower healthcare premium increases and make insurance more affordable.  This is a lie!!  With these last minute provisions, insurance premiums will still increase and any penalties imposed by the federal government can AND WILL simply be passed onto consumers.

MYTH: The president has said that you will not be affected by this legislation.

FACT:  Every American will be affected by this new law.  Either you will be the one of the recipients or you will be one of the providers.  let be define each a little more.  For those of you that have worked hard in your field, provided for your family, made mostly wise financial decisions and already have adequate healthcare – YOU ARE NOW A PROVIDER.  If you have struggled with finding work, have found it hard to pay your bills and mortgage, agonize about whether to pay bills or buy food and look to the government for long-term help – YOU ARE A RECIPIENT.  With the passage of this bill, the Democrats (against the will of the people) have shackled our kids with Trillions in debt.

MYTH: Bart Stupak and the “Pro-life” Democrats oppose government funding of abortion

FACT:  Under intense pressure from the White House and Congressional leaders, Stupak and the rest have sold out their principles for their own re-elections.  Through the guise of an Executive Order, the White House BOUGHT the votes they needed to pass this MASSIVE spending bill.

MYTH: The House passed this bill with specific guarantees that the Senate would vote on a “Fix Bill.”  This is supposed to fix everything that is wrong with the bill that just passed.  WAIT!?!?!  If there are things that need to be “FIXED” in this WHY DID IT GET PASSED?

FACT:  This bill should NOT have passed!  The American people didn’t want it.  The “Fix Bill” won’t fix anything.

My friends, I truly believe that this is the beginning of the end for our form of government and out way of life.  Now that Obama has rammed one piece of Socialism through, they will stop at nothing.  Next on the agenda will be Immigration Reform.  Mark my words, Obama and his cronies will give away our country!

The time is rapidly approaching where diplomatic solutions won’t be enough.  Those in power talk about bi-partisanship while not listening to anyone in the public.  They lie to the American people about EVERYTHING then smile and applaud as they steal our money.

The election this November will be a telling factor as to the future of our country.

One last thought: If the Dems thought the Tea Parties were big in the last few years, WAIT UNTIL APRIL 15TH THIS YEAR!

Quick Thought: Healthcare Bill

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

So a promise of an executive order to not fund abortions may tilt the vote on healthcare?  One question to Mr. Stupak…how many promises has Mr. Obama made in the last 2 years and kept?

34+ Hours To Read The Senate Bill?

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Twelve days ago I wrote an article that asked the question, “How long does it take to read 2000 pages?”  Now we have another 2000+ page Bill being pushed through the Senate.  Again, I ask you, how long does it take to read this Bill?  Well, thanks to Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) we may actually find out.

billHe has threatened to invoke parliamentary rules to force the Senate clerk (or more likely, a team of clerks) to read the massive bill before the full Senate begins formal debate on the legislation.  I think this is a brilliant idea and whole-heartedly agree with the Senator.  Here’s just a taste of what you would hear on CSPAN for 3 days straight.

‘‘(B) In the case of the second or any succeeding fiscal year for which this subsection applies to the State, the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the preceding fiscal year under this subsection for the State, increased by 25 percent of the number of percentage points by which the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the fiscal year without regard to this subsection and subsection (y), is less than the Federal medical assistance percentage determined for the State for the preceding fiscal year under this subsection.” [source]

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

But it gets better.  According to Senate Rule XIV (paragraph 2), which states that every bill and joint resolution “shall receive three readings prior to its passage,” we might get to hear it read aloud three full times.

Rest assured that the entire time it is being read the Democrats will make motion after motion, interrupting the reading of this “very important” and “historic” legislation only adding to the amount of time time it takes to actually read the damn thing.  This could take weeks!

See how long it takes you to read the Bill.  Download it [here], have fun.

Quick Thought: The pages tell the story…

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Think on this:  The Health Care Bill passed by the House is almost 2000 pages long.  It will provide health care for just over 90% of the American People at a cost of a Trillion Dollars.  The Constitution, by way of comparison, is only 17 pages long, and has shaped this country for over 200 years.

The Next Big Government Bureaucracy

Monday, October 26th, 2009

So as we all know, the Congress is getting ready to roll out its 1500 page bill on Healthcare in America.  Again, very few people have read the bill and both sides are sharpening their swords for the expected battle.  In August, the Left did their best to sell us on their idea of a “Public Option”.  Which as we all know are fancy words for exactly what the British have now, known there as a “Single Payer” healthcare system or “Government Healthcare.”  The Democrats never expected the explosive backlash and outrage from voters at their “town hall” meetings.  There were news stories of fights and multiple video clips of people shouting at politicians.  But even after August’s rush to have our voices heard, the Democrats are still pushing what they call “Healthcare Reform” down our throats.  They either didn’t hear you America, or didn’t care what you were saying.  Still, Day after day, this poll and that poll tout this number and that statistic until we, the taxpayers, are so overwhelmed with the coverage and the pundits and the whole damn thing!

So rather that trot out my views on “Healthcare Reform” and the “Public Option,” I want to take a look at something that hasn’t been talked about much in the news.  I like to look at things from several different perspectives, comment on what I see from there and right now one thing not being talked about is what this Bill would mean for the “Big Federal Government” itself and the people across the country it would effect.

Lets be honest, if this Bill passes those that supposedly need health insurance are not going to get it the moment President Obama’s pen lifts from the paper.  There are agencies to create and fund, staff to hire, surveys to send out, and databases to create.  There are contracts to be bid upon, things to buy, buildings to build, offices to furnish and reading material to publish.  There are suites to be rented, records to be compiled, lines of communication to establish and meetings to attend.  This will be a massive undertaking by our government and we all know how well the government manages itself with big projects.  What is the first thing that will happen once the Bill becomes Law?

I envision an entirely new government entity being created.  Lets call it the Department of Health Insurance.  This agency would tie into the Department of Health and Human Services but not be beholden to it.  It would also be linked with the Internal Revenue Service (which I will touch on later).  The DHI would employ hundreds of people in Washington that would monitor health insurance companies and individuals to make sure we are following the law.  The Director of the DHI would be on the President’s staff and have “people” under him with titles like “Deputy Undersecretary of…” and “Special Assistant to The…”

The DHI would need regional offices to manage the state offices below them.  Both the regional and state offices would need large staffs to do the day to day work of managing the healthcare of the people in their districts.  These offices might need onsite medical personnel for extreme cases that go there instead of their “primary care physician.”  They will need security like all government buildings.  They might also need a “Doctors Only” department to make sure that medical professionals and hospitals are complying with Federal Law within their practices.  All in all, the DHI might employ tens of thousands of people across the nation, much like the Social Security Administration does now.

The DHI would reach from the power centers in Washington right down into the local communities.  First they would need to make sure that you are in compliance with the new law that says you are required to have “adequate” health insurance.  You would need to prove to them that you indeed have this coverage.  If you don’t have this coverage  or say you can’t afford it, they will refer your case to the Internal Revenue Service who will delve into your finances to determine whether you truly can’t afford it.  If the IRS determines you really don’t have the means to purchase “adequate” coverage then you will generously be placed in the “Public Option.”  However, if the IRS determines that you do have the means to purchase “adequate” coverage, you will be fined for not having it.  Also, if you are a business owner, the new provision would require you to provide “adequate” healthcare coverage for your employees.  If  you don’t, then you would be fined hundreds of dollars per employee.

The DHI might control what services you received from medical professionals as well.  The “Doctors Only” department might control the fees that medical professionals and hospitals charge.  They might eventually control when you went to the doctor and which doctor you went to for specific treatments.  Every visit to the doctor would be monitored.  Every Emergency room visit scrutinized.  Every dental procedure pre-apporved.  Don’t get sick America!  But at least they won’t disqualify you for pre-existing conditions (which my daughter has).

My friends, right now we are hung up on the “Public Option” and the “Healthcare for Illegals” debate, among others.  The Democrats seem bound and determined to ram something, anything through to the President’s desk.  They know that if they can get anything approved and signed into law then its just a matter of time before the next step is implemented.  They promised open discussions yet lock Conservatives out of the closed-door sessions.  They promised a 5-day online public debate yet are screaming bills through at an alarming rate with no public discussion at all.  They promised fiscal responsibility yet have spent more money in less than a year then can be collected trough taxes in five.  They said the 700Billion Dollar stimulus bill would create jobs, it hasn’t.  They told us that we, the taxpayers, would get our money back from those companies we bailed out, we won’t.  They told us Afghanistan is where the fight against terror is, but they have decided to delay support for our troops there (of which many  are my friends).  They have appointed Czars with titles such as “pay czar”, behavioral science czar”, “climate change czar”, “disinformation czar”, “green jobs czar” and “religion czar”, 44 and counting.  Now the White House want to create a czar to oversee the internet to “make it fair.”  The “pay czar” has decided to cut and control the salaries of private citizens in those companies that took stimulus money.  Where will it end, America?

I’ll tell you, it will end with the destruction of Free Democracy in our lifetimes.

…and that scares me.  It should scare you too.  Scare you into action.
